Norm Clark joined the Industrial Distribution faculty in the Dwight Look College of Engineering at Texas A&M University in the fall of 2001. In industry, as director of sales for a Houston-based consulting firm, Clark developed, marketed and delivered educational programs for both manufacturers and distributors representing a variety of industrial channels throughout the U.S. As an associate of the Thomas and Joan Read Center for Distribution Research and Education at Texas A&M, he is responsible for developing, marketing and delivering professional development programs to distributors and manufacturers globally.
Clark has taught sales and sales management courses in the business schools at both Texas A&M and the University of Houston. Since he joined the Industrial Distribution Program at Texas A&M, he has taught undergraduate courses in Sales Engineering, Purchasing Applications in Distribution, Manufacturer Distributor Relations and Ethics and Leadership. He is faculty advisor to the Sigma Delta Honor Society.
Norm’s use of interactive teaching methods and his ability to encourage discussion in classroom situations help to create memorable learning experiences in both industry and academia. This combination of industry and academic involvement enhances his effectiveness in both arenas and has proved helpful in matching ID graduates to career paths in industry.
