The November Session of the Independent Distributor Alliance Corporation Management Development Course concluded its final session today. During this session we had the privilege to interview one of the participants, Kelsey Fry. Here is what he had to say about his experience with the session.
What has been your favorite session?
Personally, the leadership session was my favorite. I am new to the role, and I found a lot of usage and action items that related directly to my role. As mentioned earlier, I am new to this role so learning as may tips and strategies as possible on leadership is very interesting. This is a truly unique place and class. Unless you are a student here at Texas A&M, this is not an experience that you could have otherwise.
What are some benefits for attending sessions like this one at the Read Center?
I don’t see how it couldn’t be a benefit. To hear the experience from the three speakers here and their wealth of knowledge is truly amazing and speaks for their character. Being in this atmosphere on this campus is great. Everyone here is attending for the same reason, to improve and be more efficient. This is not some basic college class that everyone is required to take. Everyone here is attending for the same reason, to improve and be more efficient. Everyone here engages and wants to improve.
How does attending sessions like this assist you in your role and the industry that you work for?
Everything. More specifically how to handle my crew more professionally. I learned different ways to approach my teams depending on the situation at hand. Overall, the experience has been very validating for me knowing that the little thoughts I have in my head on how to improve my business is what the speakers are also telling us. It does not get any higher than this. All the speakers have had a lot of experience within the industry, so if one suggests that approaching a topic or situation a certain way, that is coming from experience.
